Welcome to the Colorado 100k Lives Campaign!

The Colorado Trust is pleased to be a part of this nationwide effort to reduce mortality and infection rates in American hospitals and save 100,000 lives over 18 months. The national campaign, developed by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), has enlisted over 3,000 hospitals in implementing sustainable system changes, applying six evidence-based interventions that have demonstrated a positive impact.

In Colorado, the effort is strong and getting even stronger. Nearly 90% of our state’s acute care hospitals have enlisted in the campaign – hospitals large and small, urban and rural. Each is doing its part to apply these patient safety practices and save even more lives. The Trust is proud to partner with IHI, the Colorado Foundation for Medical Care and 62 acute care hospitals across the state in implementing this effort.

As a grantmaking foundation dedicated to advancing the health and well-being of the people of Colorado, The Colorado Trust has a keen interest in quality healthcare. We recognize that medicine is miraculous and that Colorado’s hospitals save lives every day. The Colorado 100k Lives Campaign will serve to further strengthen participating hospitals’ quality improvement systems, making our great hospitals even better.
